Helicopter Bunny!

Try this incredibly easy craft idea that will provide kids with hours of entertainment!

Materials:
Paper
Scissors
Paper Clip
Crayons/Markers

Instructions:
Use scissors to cut a bunny shape from construction paper and cut a slit between the ears. Fold one forward and one backward. Add a paper clip to the bottom for ballast. Toss the bunny up and watch him twirl down.

Stand Up and Be Counted!

Today is National Census Day! It is important to be counted in the Census so that communities get enough federal funding. These funds go to programs like school lunches and highway construction. The United States Census is done every 10 years and consists of 10 questions.

March is Women's History Month. Long Beach Public Library offers many online databases where you can do research to find out more about famous women in history. Try searching in World Book Online for Kids or Biography Resource Center (LBPL library card may be required for access outside of the library).
