Six more weeks of winter, according to Punxsutawney Phil...

Every February 2, people all across America wonder about the groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. Will he see his shadow or won't he? Will spring come early or late? According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. Folks from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania are reporting six more weeks of winter because Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today. Will the weather still feel like winter for 6 more weeks? Spring does not officially begin until March, but we will all just have to wait and see what the weather will be like in the meantime!
